New spa industry women’s leadership conference to take place in New York

The idea for this conference has been germinating in the mind of
American Spa’s editor-in- chief and publisher Julie Keller Callaghan for a few years
US publication American Spa is launching a new Women in Wellness Leadership Conference, set to take place 6 March 2018 in New York City. The day-long experience is designed to help female leaders and aspiring leaders in the wellness space develop their professional and personal goals while networking with their peers.
Speakers and panelists for the conference will be announced in the coming weeks, but the day will be split between several keynotes and a variety of breakout sessions that attendees can choose based on their personal goals.
“For years, I've been inspired by the women in this industry and have been blessed to have befriended so many who juggle powerful careers with equally important personal lives,” said Julie Keller Callaghan, American Spa editor-in-chief. “As I’ve grown in my career while expanding my family, I’ve used so many of them as sounding boards and mentors, and I realised that creating a conference to try to do the same for others is both invaluable and necessary.”
Topics will include cultivating effective leadership traits, developing effective personal and professional social media strategies, embracing feminine traits to effectively collaborate in business, managing millennials, organising personal finances to ensure your financial future, women managing women, strategies for fair compensation and overcoming the gender gap, networking and mentorship, creating work-life balance, and more.
The day will also include a networking lunch and end with a networking cocktail party. Attendees will receive a gift bag, local hotel and spa discounts, and VIP passes to IECSC New York, which takes place just before.
Post-event, they will have access to a private American Spa Institute eLearning course with videos, presentations and more from the day.
