Located in the city centre, just off Queen’s Square, Zeebar is owned by the Endless Pleasure Company (EPC) and its architectural and feature lighting design was the responsibility of specialists Clarity Lighting.

One of the main challenges facing Clarity was making Zeebar’s 40m outside canopy look black during the day but to come alive with colour and movement at night.

The solution involved a combination of the company’s Ionic RGB colour changing strips and its Microdex panelling with a black underlay. When lit from along one edge with the Ionic strips, Microdex appears as an evenly illuminated surface.

Other external lighting fixtures came from Clarity’s standard product range and included the Wall Sphere, a 6w Luxeon LED wall wash and the Mini Updown, a bi-directional 2 x 1w Luxeon LED architectural fitting.

Inside the building, Microdex was used with white light to highlight the bottle stand areas and in the VIP bar a feature Colour Wall was installed, consisting of linear Clarity Multileds behind fabric panels.

The company also supplied all the emergency lighting, using recessed luminaries rather than the more common bulkhead type.
