Bituchem Asphalt’s Natratex surfacing has been used for the pathways surrounding the Palm House at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.

Amongst specific criteria set down by Kew's design team was the requirement to create footpaths that complemented the natural surroundings of the prestigious west London World Heritage Site. Durability was a further consideration.

Natratex was selected as being long lasting and low maintenance, providing a tough surface that can withstand both pedestrian and vehicular traffic and yet which has the soft appearance of natural stone.

Natratex is a hot applied process with a similar manufacture and application method to that of traditional macadams and which can be applied in nearly all weather conditions. Sub-contractors Marshall Surfacing laid 500sq m of the product at Kew.
