Tansun has developed the Kinetix Active Care System, a package of four motorised, power-assisted exercise chairs designed to help older people achieve a full-body workout that can be tailored to their mobility and fitness level.
Each chair has a different function so that it can exercise several parts of the body simultaneously and the company says the system provides care homes and physiotherapy centres with a solution for people who have been unable to participate in traditional exercise activities.
Users exercise upright in a seated position, which is said to help to boost confidence, makes the machines easier to mount and dismount and enables easier interaction with the trainer and other users.
The chairs restrict movements to the functional range, reducing the risk of injury and allowing performance of passive recovery repetitions during periods of tiredness, allowing the user to rest without stopping the exercise.
The four exercise chairs in the range include the Ab Crunch, which incorporates stomach crunch, back extension and hip movements targeting the back, upper abdomen, stomach and hips; and the Step and Row, a cv exerciser incorporating a unique step-row-press action for upper and lower body areas.
Also available are the Flexi Bike, combining cycling movements for both the arms and legs, and the Duo Curl, which utilises eight individual functions targeting five different upper and lower body parts - the arms, legs, shoulder, neck and hips.
All four chairs in the Tansun Kinetix Active Care System can be located in a 20sq. m. area and powered by a single 13A socket.
