To add a whole new dimension to the ambience of any leisure operation - be it health club, spa, bar or restaurant - Chaos Design Consultants can brighten things up with colour-changing light tiles.
Experts in the design and installation of the tiles, the company can make them in any size from 150mm sq up to 3m x 1.5m and they can be used either inside or outside a building.
Each one consists of a panel of special light dispersing acrylic, edgelit with red, green and blue LEDs. These can be controlled by a computer-based programme to produce an infinitely variable array of colour changes and movement, from slow moving muted shades suitable for a spa, to much faster and brighter shades ideal for a bar or restaurant.
Some installations also have plasma screens fitted in-between the light tiles, showing the latest news or information.
Chaos Design MD, Jonty Savile, says: "Restaurants, bars and health clubs are always looking at ways of increasing footfall and we have found that installing light tiles is an eye-catching and innovative way of getting the customer's attention.
"The tiles can also increase the club's turnover because, if some of them are set to the white mix only, graphics can be placed on the tiles and these can be leased out as advertising space."
He adds: "Because of the different sizes of tile that can be produced, we can design anything from a minimalistic feature consisting of just a small area, up to a complete wall of tiles covering several floors."
