It was a race against time to install a particularly tall and very special modular display system into Newcastle's new Visitor Information Centre before the Tall Ships Race reached the city in July.

With only two weeks available from order to completion, the Elypse merchandising and graphic display system - manufactured by Albion Design & Fabrication - was installed on time in the Visitor Centre, located inside Newcastle's Grade 1 listed Guildhall.

Elypse was chosen for its compatibility with the contemporary design of the centre, while also being able for specification as a very tall system in order to fit with the high walls of the building.

Its versatility has permitted a display solution which encompasses postcards, graphics, clothing, slatwall and shelving. Custom manufactured racks for maps and rolled posters are also included.

Care was taken to co-ordinate the finish of the system with that of the Visitor Centre's new oak floor.
